Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud and Proud is the official theme of NAIDOC Week 2024, which runs from Sunday July 7 through to Sunday July 14. An opportunity for Australians to come together and celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Welcome To Country & Smoking Ceremony
Sunday July 7, 12:00PM - 12:30PM, The Rocks
Mark the start of NAIDOC Week with an immersive cultural experience set under Sydney Harbour Bridge. Gather at Dawes Point for the Welcome To Country, traditional smoking ceremony, and live didgeridoo performance.
Aboriginal And Torres Strait Islander Badge Making Workshop
Monday July 8 - Friday July 12, 11:00AM - 1:00PM, The Rocks Discovery Museum
They say this is a crafternoon activity for kids to engage in NAIDOC Week and learn about the importance of Indigenous culture. We say this sounds like great fun and education for adults too.

Wednesday July 10, 11:00AM - 10:00PM, Sydney Town Hall
Throughout the day, explore markets showcasing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art, clothing, homewares, before this space opens up to a free (but ticketed), all ages, live entertainment venue after 5pm. Hip hop icons Barkaa and JK-47 share the stage with country stars Loren Ryan and Jarrod Hickling, as well as comedian Isaac Compton.
Wednesday July 3 - Tuesday July 9, Midday, Museum Of Contemporary Art
Join free lunchtime screenings at the MCA throughout NAIDOC Week, including: Wash My Soul In The River’s Flow, a documentary about the lives and love story of Ruby Hunter and Archi Roach as told in their own songs and spoken word stories, and Lousy Little Sixpence, a documentary that discusses the wages that were (meant) to be paid to the children of the Stolen Generation.
Wednesday July 3 - Sunday July 14, 10:00AM - 5:00PM, Carriageworks
Via their individual modes of storytelling (weaving, visual arts, poetry) select primary and secondary school students across NSW have been working with Indigenous Artists In Residence throughout the first half of 2024, to create an immersive and collaborative installation for the public that celebrates the NAIDOC Week theme.
Tuesday July 9, 5:00PM - 7:00PM, Barangaroo Reserve
Get ready for a magical journey uncovering the secrets of the sky, diving deep into stories written in the constellations, as passed down from generation to generation. This First Nations led program is your chance to explore the universe through the eyes of the first people of this country. Rug up, and look up. (Start manifesting now, for clear skies over Sydney.)
